The majority of annuities provided by insurance companies are payable at a guaranteed rate determined at the outset (i.e. when the investment is made and the annuity commences).
As we note within the ‘unit-linked annuities’ site a small number of annuity providers offer annual payments linked to the performance of a mixture of assets – primarily equities but with elements of fixed interest, cash and, perhaps, commercial property.
These annuities might appeal to annuitants happy to accept a larger degree of risk in return for potentially higher rewards. But are with profits annuities right for you?
